We have received feedback that the maintenance box on Epson M1050 and M2050 printers was filling up quicker than expected over the past year. This was mainly due to a firmware-related issue that has been gradually improved through updates.
After testing at our service center, we can confirm that the maintenance box now typically lasts between 7,000 to 8,000 prints. This is close to other similar Epson models, though slightly lower in some cases.
To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend purchasing one spare maintenance box every other time you buy ink.
Good news for new buyers: Since December 2025, all new stock of M1050 and M2050 printers now includes an extra maintenance box. This allows you to print approximately 14,000–16,000 pages before needing your first replacement.
